Check out video clip from Womex 11 gig Since the summer of 2011, the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival programme committee has been working actively on the 2012 festival, and has now nominated Antti Järvelä and Antti Paalanen as the programme producers for the festival. Järvelä and Paalanen are both multi-talented musicians in the cutting edge of the Finnish folk music scene. Antti Järvelä is a member of such famed bands as Frigg, JPP and Baltic Crossing, whereas Antti Paalanen is well-known from Hehkumo, Hyperborea, Kiharakolmio, Trepaanit and Duo Turkka & Paalanen. Pro Kaustinen ry, the association organising Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, has started recruiting for the position of the festival project manager. The position is scheduled to be filled by the end of February 2012. The 45th Kaustinen Folk Music Festival will take place from July 9th to 15th 2012. The main themes are Scandinavia and the kantele, and the regional theme is the historical province of Tavastia (Häme) in southern Finland.
